Denver comes in at No. 10 in annual U.S. News & World Report ranking.

Colorado Springs is the place everyone wants to be, according to U.S. News & World Report's "Most Desirable Places to Live" list for 2019. It's the second year in a row that the Springs has ranked in the top spot in this report.

U.S News & World Report surveyed people across the nation to determine where they would live if they could. This year, the Springs tied for the top spot with San Francisco, Portland, and Honolulu.

Colorado Springs was a dream spot for many due to the easy access to the mountains, multiple options for outdoor recreation like hiking and skiing, and proximity to shopping in Denver. Factors like affordability, job market, and population growth were also taken into account.

"Colorado Springs might not jump off the map as an economic or cultural hub the way larger metro areas like Denver do. But in a quieter, gentler way, Colorado Springs has much to offer, including a low cost of living, a low unemployment rate and a variety of recreation and entertainment options," says U.S. News & World Report.

It was also recently ranked No. 3 in the magazine's "Best Place to Live" report, as well as the 33rd Best Place to Retire. 

After the four ties for the top spot, the rest of the rankings include San Diego (No. 5), Las Vegas (6), Seattle (7), New York City (8), Austin (9), and Denver (10). Denver ranked in the top 10 because of the access to outdoors and job market, but it suffered because of affordability.

Over the last few years, Denver has experienced a population boom, and it doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. As a result, the cost of living has dramatically increased, with housing costs seeing one of the biggest hikes. The average home sale price in Denver is now significantly higher than the national average.

Colorado was also named as the 10th best state in the country by U.S. News & World Report.
