A new Great White Shark has been spotted off the coast of Alabama.

Researchers from the University of South Alabama captured video of a juvenile shark, known as Miss Pawla.

Miss Pawla is about 8 feet in length and was spotted near the Alabama Artificial Reef Zone.

The first sighting was in mid-April during a survey with researchers from Mississippi State University.

She was found roaming the same site for ten days, but was gone by Friday, May 3rd.

Great White Sharks have been reported from other areas of the Gulf of Mexico, Miss Pawla being a rare occurrence and the first sighting in the reef zone recorded by scientists.

Recent reports of a Great White being caught by an Alabama fisherman and another washing up on a Florida beach suggest the species is more common in the northern Gulf of Mexico than originally thought.
