GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) -A local gymnast at Lanier’s Gymnastics is bringing home some more hardware.

Brooke Perkins, a level nine gymnast, came home with first place honors in floor a few weeks ago at the regional level, competing against eight other states, including Mississippi.

She also placed in the top ten for vault at regionals.

Perkins says while it can be a grind going from competition to competitions the end result is well worth it.

”Really the awards. Doing your best and seeing that you’ve gotten an award for it, it’s really nice and makes everything feel like it was worth it,” said Perkins.

Lanier’s also found success this season at the state levels with a number of first place state champions coming home with hardware.
