COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) — Grab the umbrella before you head out this morning.

Showers and storms will be possible this morning through the early afternoon.

These storms could pose a threat for severe weather, particularly damaging straight-line wind gusts.

Conditions should dry out by the mid-afternoon and stay that way through the evening.

The morning rain should cool highs a bit to the mid 80s.

Yet another cluster of storms should slide through the Midlands Friday morning.

While the severe weather threat will be low, isolated severe gusts can't be ruled out.

Conditions should dry out Friday afternoon as the humid air is finally replaced by much drier air.

That low humidity will stick around Saturday and Sunday, resulting in a sunny and pleasant Mother's Day weekend.

Enjoy the dry break while it lasts. The pattern will likely turn active once again next week.
