Denver makes it to the list of top 10 international cities to visit in 2020.
It's no secret that tourism in Denver is on the rise, and now, it will surely skyrocket. The Mile High City was recently named by Lonely Planet as one of the Top 10 Cities to Travel to in 2020.
Every year, Lonely Planet provides a travel list, a list of the best cities to travel to. For its list of 2020, they asked from their writers to their online community for nominations of worldwide cities that are worth visiting. Out of the 10 selected cities, Denver was one out of two American cities featured as the Best in Travel for 2020. The other U.S city was Washington, D.C.

The travel guide website always strives to make a yearly list that combines overlooked destinations by travelers and classic travel cities but always offering new reasons to return. In their article, Best in Travel 2020, Lonely Planet confirms each city is chosen for its topicality, unique experiences, and above all, its "wow factor".
Denver made it to No. 10 on the list, described as a charming boomtown that has reached new heights. The editors gave the city high praise for its food scene, mentioning food halls like Milk Market and its mix of farm-to-table cuisine and international fare.
They also gave Denver high marks for its fast-paced growth, as boutique hotels and eclectic local businesses seem to be sprouting overnight.
The city's art scene was also mentioned, describing Meow Wolf's 'Kaleidoscape' ride at Elitch Gardens as a mind-bending experience. With that, they anticipated the upcoming Meow Wolf installation, the multi-million dollar art project funded primarily by author George R.R. Martin, which will be open to the public in 2021.
