ALEA said a suspect at the location, identified as 41-year-old Charles David Boyles Jr., shot at the officer then Boyles was fatally shot. He was pronounced dead at the scene. ALEA said the officer received minor injuries from gunfire and was transported to Highlands Medical Center in Scottsboro where he was treated and released.
