A retired Providence police officer pleaded not guilty Monday to a DUI charge in a fatal crash. Daniel Famiglietti, 59, appeared for his arraignment in Washington County Superior Court. Rhode Island State Police said a car caught fire on Route 146 North in Providence Sunday morning. Police and firefighters responded to the area just before the merge with Interstate 95 around 7:30.
