Chilly temperatures settle in for the first half of the week. Low chance for rain moves in later today. A few clouds stay with us today as they mix in with sunshine. It's time to break out the jackets if you haven't already, temperatures will only get to the middle 50's.
Tracking a cool start to the week for the Rockford region
Monday will be the first day since April 24, where highs will be below 60 degrees. Highs will be in the upper to mid-50s. We will start the morning with some sunshine but by the afternoon, we will be cloudy once again. Winds will back off a bit, with gusts at 20 mph expected.

Widespread frost is likely Tuesday and Wednesday night with lows falling into the low 30s. Temperatures will slowly climb towards the end of the week. By Thursday, the middle 60s will return as sunshine dominates for most of the week. Highs may even briefly break into the low 70s by Saturday.
