Skincare is important year-round, but it can get especially tricky during the hot, humid summer we tend to have here in Washington, D.C.

Here are three skincare tips to keep you feeling fresh and clean all summer long.

Sunscreen

Yes, of course, sunscreen is the first tip on the list. And, yes, we all know we need to apply sunscreen to protect us from the sun, but oftentimes we only do it when we go to the beach or pool, but not as part of our everyday routine. Whether you’re in your bikini or your work clothes, it’s important to always apply sunscreen, especially on your face (don’t forget your ears, too), hands, and anything else that’s regularly exposed. Make it a daily practice. [caption id="attachment_9974" align="aligncenter" width="1024"]skincare tips Courtesy of thewirecutter.com[/caption]

Try a Mist

Rather than spraying water on your face to keep cool, try a refreshing mist. Spray over your face in the morning after you’ve completed your skincare routine, and keep a travel-sized bottle around for any time you may need a pick me up. Facial mists are rejuvenating and contain soothing ingredients like aloe, rosewater, and herbs. Invest in an Acne-Fighting Body Wash

More sweat equals more acne for some of us, which means we need to tackle those pesky zits as quickly as possible. Invest in a gentle, acne-fighting body wash that you can use once or twice a day when you shower. They help prevent breakouts on the body and keep your skin feeling smooth and refreshed.
