It’s about to be a hot summer in Washington, D.C. But nothing beats the heat like some fruity and delicious tropical drinks. Head over to these tiki bars for a beach excursion without even leaving the District.

Jack Rose Dining Saloon

While the first floor looks like it belongs in a cowboy movie more than a Carribean island, the pop-up bar is all about the beach vibes. Head over for tropical drinks with a twist, such as the Bitter Blue Hawaiian with cana brava rum, bittered blue curacao, pineapple, coconut cream, and lime; or the Banango Tango with ron zaacapa rum, banago cordial, black pepper amontillado sherry, lime, and mango comapeno mead. All tiki bar cocktails are $13.

Archipelago

Archipelago stays true to the tiki theme with an island-themed interior design, classic tiki drinks, and beautifully garnished and designed drinks. The drinks can come in fun tiki cups, a plastic coconut, or even a pineapple! Check out their happy hour for the best deals: pina coladas for $7, ti punch for $8, and the pineapple of hospitality for two people for $16. Happy hour is Tuesday–Friday from 5 p.m.–7 p.m. If you're hungry, the tiki bar also has Asian fusion food.

The tiki bar even has mai tais on tap! If you are in the mood for more classic drinks they have old-fashioneds, manhattans, and martinis. For the best Instagram photo, order It’s a Frog Who’s Smoking a Comically Large Cigar, which is garnished with a frog made out of a lime, with cherries for eyes, smoking a cinnamon cigar.
