An Ocean City vacation is perfect because once you get there, frolicking on the sand is free of charge. But what happens when the kids get bored and start driving you crazy? There are lots of diversions on the boardwalk and all throughout Ocean City, but many of them will take a beating on your wallet. 1. Family Beach Olympics

Bring the whole family out to 27th Street Beach for a little friendly competition. All skill levels welcome! Activities include sand castle contests, tug-of-war, relay games, and more. The Olympics are held Tuesdays from June 26 to August 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
2. Movies on the Beach

Ocean City Recreation and Parks will host these free beach movies at the Carousel Hotel on 117th Street on Wednesday evenings from June 6 to August 30, as well as on 27th Street Beach on Monday and Friday evenings from June 25 to August 17.
At both locales, the movies are shown on a huge screen, starting at about 8:30 p.m. In the event of bad weather, the movie will be canceled. Go here for the Carousel movie schedule, and here for the 27th Street listings.
3. Sunset Park Party Nights

Get your groove on at a free concert while watching the sunset over the Isle of Wight Bay! Sunset Park is located along S. Division Street on the Bay, near the Coast Guard Station. Concerts are held Thursdays from July 11 to August 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission to the park is free, while beverages, including beer, are available for purchase. Pro tip: bring your own chair! 4. Fishing Tournaments

5. Northside Park

Northside Park is Ocean City's largest park facility, located at 200 125th St. The 58-acre complex boasts three lighted softball/baseball fields, a lighted soccer field, multipurpose field, a fishing lagoon, a footbridge, concession stands, two playgrounds, picnic area, two piers, a gazebo, walking/jogging paths, and more. Pack a lunch and head out to explore all this park has to offer!
