Fashion trends only last for a short period of time for a reason. Below are the 12 regrettable fashion trends sneaking back into style!

1. Trucker hats

Unless you just got off your semi at Johnson's corner in Johnstown, Colorado then you probably should put the hat right back where it belongs (in the trash). This trend started in the 70's when truck drivers would purchase these hats because they were the cheaper alternative to a baseball cap. Who thought truck drivers would make such a fashion statement? Skater punks took notice popularizing them in the late 80's and then eventually celebrities and rappers caught on in the early 2000's. This trend is somehow making a comeback for a reason no one knows. They aren't even flattering!

2. Crop tops

[gallery ids="1248,1249"]

I think we can all agree that the only person to truly make this trend possible is Britney Spears circa 2000. While you may have an amazing midriff, that doesn't mean you need to show the world your hard work at the gym. Crop tops have been making a fierce comeback ever since it was seen on the runway in 2011.

3. Ugg Boots

[gallery ids="1259,1258"]

So middle school, am I right? Uggs were created in the 60's and if you can believe it, they were originally created for Australian surfers. Then Oprah put her magic touch on them and they instantly became the hottest boot on the market in the early 2000's. The trend seemed to fade but for some reason it's sneaking back up on us. The only thing that would go with these chunky boots is a Starbucks Skinny Vanilla Latte.

4. Heart shaped glasses

[gallery ids="1255,1252"]

Big reflective glasses have been trending for some time now, but the 70's heart shaped glasses have got to go. We get that you go to Coachella and you are probably from L.A., we don't need the heart shaped 8-year-old-esque glasses to understand that. Save them for your future or current daughter, she'll love them!

5. Legging pants

regrettable fashion

To be completely honest, I own about 500 pairs of leggings so I can't exactly argue this one. BUT I will say that there is an appropriate way to wear leggings and recently people have abused them. Yes, leggings with tall riding boots and a chunky sweater is adorable, but what isn't so cute is when your leggings also showcase a Victoria's Secret "PINK" across your behind. We've got to keep it classy.

6. Harem Pants

regrettable fashion

Also known as "MC Hammer Pants," these pants make me wonder how you don't trip on your own crotch. Sure, in an appropriate manner where the middle doesn't sag to the floor, they can be cute and trendy, but as far as I'm concerned MC Hammer is the only person who should be wearing these.

7. Mullets

[gallery ids="1250,1256"]

I can't even believe this so called "style" is coming back. They originally became popular because of Paul McCartney and David Bowie, and then continued into the 80's and 90's before they finally died out. It's unfortunate that the style resurrected onto the runway in 2013 as a "fashion mullet". The man bun could be coined as the current crazy hairstyle, but at least its pulled back nicely. The mullet has a rat tail in the back! Need I say more?
