Dulles Town Center Tree Lighting | Friday, November 22

It’s Christmas time in the city, and Dulles Town Center is celebrating! To ring in the holiday season, the annual tree lighting event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m., during which you can enjoy holiday caroling, live music, photos with Santa and friends, and holiday games. Every kid will also receive a free magic wand that they can use to help light the Dulles Town Center Christmas tree at the end of the night.
Alexandria Tree Lighting Ceremony | King, Royal, and Fairfax Streets | Saturday, November 23

Hear ye, hear ye! Come all ye faithful as the Town Crier calls all residents of Alexandria to gather around the town tree at 6 p.m. and celebrate the holiday season. Be sure to bring the children to take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and enjoy the Metropolitan School of the Arts perform “Santa’s Spectacular.” Then, join the crowd as everyone counts down to the lighting of the tree.

Watch the Leesburg tree shine bright like a diamond on November 23. Starting at 3 p.m., the Village at Leesburg will be transformed into a holiday wonderland. You can visit Santa, take a horse-drawn carriage ride, jam out to your favorite holiday classics, and check out some Leesburg shops for special holiday discounts. When it gets dark, the town will flip on the 15,000 lights on its five-story musical tree and completely amaze the audience.
Reston Town Center Lighting | Friday, November 29

The tree lighting at Reston Town Center is a day-long event full of fun for the whole family. The festivities start at 11 a.m. with the 29th annual Reston Holiday Parade, featuring Macy-style balloons hovering over the skyline. After the big parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for pictures and to hear children’s holiday wishes before embarking on mini-train rides on Market Street. At 6 p.m., everyone will gather around the tree for the lighting and sing-along, followed by horse-drawn carriage rides into the night.

Deck the halls with family and friends at Stonebridge in Woodbridge. Planned for 6 to 8 p.m. on November 29, the annual tree lighting ceremony will feature carriage rides, ice carving, face painting, and performances from “Those Funny Little People and New Dominion Choraliers” before the extravagant lighting of the tree.

This holiday season, you’ll find a beautiful sight, as we’re happy tonight, walking in a winter WonderLansdowne. The celebrations start at 5 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, and includes the magnificent lighting of a 20-foot Christmas tree, festive drinks, lovely carolers, and a special appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus. Although the event is completely free, you will need to RSVP on Landsdowne’s Eventbrite page.

Santa Claus is coming to town, and historic downtown Manassas is hosting a welcoming party. Known as Santa Lights, the ceremony begins on Friday, December 6, at 5:15 p.m. The festivities kick off with musical performances as the town waits for Santa to arrive. Around 6 p.m., the guest of honor will arrive at the Manassas Depot on the VRE train and come to light the glorious tree. Along the way, he’ll say hi to all the good boys and girls and lend an ear to all of their holiday wishes. Throughout the event, you can visit the Manassas museum and store, catch a free wagon ride, visit the Harris Pavilion Ice Rink, or shop downtown.

Do you hear what I hear? It’s the sound of Ashburn ringing in the holiday season. This year, the 7th annual tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 7 from 5 to 7 p.m. Other than the lighting, families can also take pictures with Santa, relax on a horse-drawn carriage ride, ice skate, and enjoy ice sculpture carvings and carolers. You can also walk around to 40 different vendors to try delicious food samples and buy gifts for the entire family.

Carolers are singing, sleigh bells are ringing, it’s that time of year—the City of Fairfax Festival of Lights and Carols. This year, you can listen to carolers singing your favorite holiday classics while indulging in s’mores and hot cider. The caroling and lighting of the tree is set for 5:30 p.m. right in the middle of the Old Town Square.
