Western Maryland Scenic Railroad | November 23–December 23

Relive The Polar Express movie on Western Maryland Scenic Railroad’s nonstop ride to the North Pole. On this 65-minute adventure, passengers will listen to sounds of the movie as they sip on hot chocolate, munch on treats, and read along to the children’s story, The Polar Express. Along the ride, Santa and his helpers will give each child a silver sleigh bell to celebrate the holidays. The merry adventure starts on November 23, but the magic will run through December 23. Tickets are $50-80 for children and $60-85 for adults depending on where you would like to sit and what day you want to travel. B&O Railroad Museum | November 23–24, 29–30, December 1

If all you want for Christmas is a ride on the Polar Express, then you definitely need to head to the B&O Railroad Museum. Once the conductor punches your golden ticket, you’ll be on the most magical ride of the holidays. Headed straight to the North Pole, this Polar Express will provide you with hot chocolate, cookies, and the first gift of Christmas. These rides will be offered November 23–24, November 29–30, and on December 1. However, there will be a surprise for passengers who take a ride on November 24. On this day, Eddie Deezen, who played the know-it-all in The Polar Express film will be onboard for a meet-and-greet and to sign autographs for all his fans. Don’t miss out on this chance of a lifetime.

Santa Train | VRE Stations in Northern Virginia | December 14

Ho-Ho-Hold onto your hats as you board the biggest and most anticipated train ride in Virginia. The Santa Train features the hottest couple in the land, Santa and Mrs. Claus, as they spread Christmas cheer to one and all. Along the 40-minute train ride, the whole family can indulge in candy cane treats, cheerful caroling, and jolly sing-a-longs. All trains will run on December 14 from the Fredericksburg, Spotsylvania, Manassas, Woodbridge, and Burke Center VRE stations. Tickets are $6 and will go on sale Monday, November 25, at 9 a.m. at vrespecialevents.org. Be sure to act fast though because tickets will sell out in minutes!
