You can live-stream Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli singing at the Duomo in Milan, Italy, on Easter Sunday, April 12, 2020.
Many churches around the world will be closed on Easter Sunday, but you can still observe this holy holiday. Italian opera singer, songwriter, and producer Andrea Bocelli will deliver a message of love, hope, and healing to Italy and the world. The performance will take place at an empty Duomo di Milano in Milan, Italy, and can be seen around the world via live-stream.
Bocelli’s home country of Italy is still under a coronavirus lockdown. According to Johns Hopkins, there have been more than 135,500 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Italy.
Bocelli said on social media …
"On the day in which we celebrate the trust in a life that triumphs, I'm honored and happy to answer 'Sì' to the invitation of the City and the Duomo of Milan. I believe in the strength of praying together; I believe in the Christian Easter, a universal symbol of rebirth that everyone — whether they are believers or not — truly needs right now."
The special event is called Music for Hope. It begins on Sunday at 7 p.m. Central Europe time, which is 1 p.m. ET, or 10 a.m. PST.
The Andrea Bocelli Foundation is raising money for COVID-19 relief to help purchase equipment and protective gear for hospitals and medical staff.
