Starting Friday evening, September 28, the Arlington Memorial Bridge between Virginia and D.C. will remain closed until 5 a.m. on Monday, October 1.

Getting around town is going to get significantly harder this weekend. The Arlington Memorial Bridge will be closed until early Monday morning, diverting traffic onto the Key, 14th Street, and Roosevelt Bridges. The closure is part of an ongoing long-term overhaul plan for the structure, with an anticipated completion date in 2021.

Once the bridge reopens on Monday morning, only two lanes will be open in each direction through mid- to late-October 2018. DMV drivers should adjust their commutes for alternate routes if possible. Additional delays along the GW Parkway, Beltway, and other Potomac River Bridges are to be expected.
