Foodies, rejoice!

This summer's Baltimore Restaurant Week, held July 24–August 2, will be considerably different than past years, with an emphasis on safety and social distancing. Due to the recent changes in Baltimore City's restaurant dining restrictions, you can enjoy your foodie finds by dining al fresco, getting takeout, or ordering curbside pickup!

All you have to do is browse the participating eateries on the Baltimore Restaurant Week website and place your order online for takeout. That's it!

This week of discounted dining is a great way to get out and try food from new restaurants or get meals from old favorites without emptying your pockets.

Wondering what looks good this year? Here are some highlights from around the city:

Bar Vasquez has created a $35 per person to-go menu, featuring three decadent courses. Everything on the menu looks great, but I'd go for the charred tomato soup, housemade bucatini pasta, and the guava flan with caramel pearls. Yum!

Petit Louis Bistro offers traditional French cuisine and has a $35 three-course dinner menu prepared. Duck breast with local cherries and chocolate mousse for dessert? Sign me up!

Alexander's Tavern has a $15 lunch and brunch menu, as well as a three-course dinner menu for just $25. Their Baltimore Bomb Pie combines iconic Berger cookies with a sweet vanilla filling. What a way to end a meal!

For more information, including an interactive list of participating locations, check out the Baltimore Restaurant Week website. Some of the special menus have been posted, but you may need to contact a restaurant directly to find out what they will be offering. Either way, doing your research beforehand is part of the fun!
