These brunch spots will banish the post-Christmas blues and help start off the new year right!

Once another New Year's Eve is in the bag, you'll probably find yourself having been out all night taking goofy selfies with your friends and helping yourself to the wine bar one too many times. Or maybe you stayed in for the night, pajamas on, bundled up in bed before the clock struck midnight. Whatever the case, it's New Year's Day, and we all want to take it slow. What better way to slacken the pace than with a satisfying brunch? Whether it's a craving for a savory Bloody Mary or a decked-out breakfast sandwich, these places will get your new year off to the right start.

Nacho Mama's | 2907 O'Donnell St., Baltimore, MD 21224

With its hybrid menu of Tex-Mex and Mid-Atlantic fare (and the Elvis merch), Nacho Mama's offers a hodge-podge of breakfast classics and experimental twists on old favorites. For New Year's Day, they're offering a free drink with the purchase of any entree. The catch is simple: from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., just show up in your pajamas or clothing from the night before, and you'll receive a $2 brunch drink of your choice. Sounds like a trade-off we can all agree on.

Alexander's Tavern | 710 S. Broadway, Baltimore, MD, 21231

This bar is a Baltimore favorite, and it's not hard to see why. Located in the historic Fells Point neighborhood, this eatery's award-winning menu includes decadent paninis and share-able breakfast nachos. And from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., their brunch offerings will be on full display. Just $15 can get you an all-you-can-drink experience at the bar, while screwdrivers and mimosas go for $3.50 a pop. If you feel like combining your drink and meal, you can't go wrong with the $5 Ultimate Bloody Mary, which comes with celery, olives, Swiss cheese, pickle, and bacon. View their menu here.

Summer House | 11825 Grand Park Ave., North Bethesda, MD 20852

Maryland winters always have us pining for warm climates and breezy cocktails on the beach. While it'll still be cold outside, let Summer House's California aesthetic help you forget temporarily. Their focus on farm-fresh ingredients makes for a refreshing meal, and this year you can lighten up with their fourth-annual New Year's Day Pajama Brunch. Arrive in your pajamas, and in exchange, they'll give you a gift card equal to the price of your order that you can use on a future visit! When you're there, try "The Commuter" egg sandwich, which comes with tomato, cheddar, bacon, spicy mayo, and your choice of protein on a housemade English muffin. Check out their menu here.

Black Eyed Suzie's | 119 S. Main Street, Bel Air, MD 21014

Any place that does a brunch buffet will always have a place in our hearts, especially if that place is Black Eyed Suzie's. Their specialty is American classics and regional takes on seafood, like crab quesadillas and Rockfish tenders. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., take your pick of breakfast and lunch options from their sizeable spread, or head over to the waffle station to build your own entree (waffle. station. two words we love). It's a family-friendly event, but adults can still get some NYD fun with the drink specials: $4 Bloody Marys and Mimosas as well as a Mimosa pitcher for $12. Make your reservation today!
