Illegal Pete’s and Santiago’s want to share the love with free and discounted bundles of tortilla-wrapped heaven.
Yes, Denver has its very own day celebrating our favorite breakfast wrap. Believe it or not, Mayor Michael Hancock signed the first Breakfast Burrito Day into existence on October 14, 2017. Fans celebrated with their favorite combo of potatoes, bacon, sausage, eggs, green chile, and more to the tune of eating 4,000 free burritos from Illegal Pete’s and 87,000 $1.25 breakfast burritos from Santiago’s.
If you missed last year, don’t fret. While Mayor Hancock has not officially announced the second annual awesome burrito day, Illegal Pete’s and Santiago’s are gearing up for a repeat performance on Oct. 13. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at eight Illegal Pete’s Colorado locations (Fort Collins, Pearl Street, Lodo, DU, DTC, Broadway, Colfax, and Northside), the masses can stuff their faces with FREE burritos.
“This year we're continuing the tradition of giving away free breakfast burritos, no strings attached, at all locations except the Hill (which doesn't serve breakfast). Tag a friend!” said Illegal Pete’s on its Facebook page.
Not to be outdone, Santiago’s will let you buy up to five burritos at the special “throwback” price of $1.25. Santiago’s will donate two percent of all sales on Breakfast Burrito Day to Santiago’s Charity, which helps a variety of organizations and people.
The early bird will catch the burrito at these locations, so set that alarm and get in line as soon as you can. You will likely be in line with half of the town doing the same, so prepare for a burrito bombardment.
