The annual fundraiser returns to the Maryland Zoo, modified for social distancing.

The Maryland Zoo is bringing back “Brew Thru at the Zoo,” turning it into a drive-thru event. The event will take place on two days, Saturday, July 25 and Sunday, July 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. Attendees will get a special gift package that includes a six-pack of beer made in Maryland and then get to drive through the zoo in their own car. Proceeds from the event will help fund programs at the zoo, one of many Maryland institutions impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

Normally held on Memorial Day, “Brew at the Zoo” is one of the most popular events held throughout the year. This unique workaround will allow participants to see the zoo in a safe way from the comfort of their car. Only one ticket package per car is needed, and you can bring as many people as you want, including the kiddos. The driver must be 21, and visitors are not allowed to drink alcohol while driving through the zoo.

Tickets are $65 per car and include:

  • Vehicle Admission
  • Six-pack of beer
  • Commemorative Beer Glass
  • Commemorative T-shirt
  • Tote Bag

Gift packs and beer will distributed at the end of your tour. The beer package includes one of each: Trail Run by Monument City Brewing, My My My Key Lime Pie from Duclaw Brewing Company, Choptank’d by The Brewer’s Art, Crushin’ by Jailbreak Brewing Company, Semi Charmed by Key Brewing Co., and Thunderpeel by Flying Dog.

The Brew at the Zoo will run about 20 minutes, and pets are not allowed. Restrooms will be closed during the event.

The Maryland Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all tickets must be purchased online for timed entry. Visitors must wear masks and follow a special one-way path during their visit.
