For the second consecutive year, the Broncos will not be raising their ticket prices.
After a 5-11 end, and one of the worst years under John Elway, the Broncos came in last place in the AFC West. It marked as the Broncos' first losing season since 2010. So it doesn't come as a surprise that the Broncos announced that ticket prices will not be raised for 2018, especially since the freezes have occurred after the team missed the playoffs each of the past two years. CEO Joe Ellis wrote in a letter to the fans, "We share your disappointment for not reaching our goals after a promising start to the season. There are no excuses for what went wrong, and all of us take full responsibility for our first losing record in seven years." This announcement comes after six members of the team were fired -- head coaches Eric Studesville and Tyek Tolbert, special teams coordinator Brock Olivo, offensive line coach Jeff Davidson, outside linebackers coach Fred Pagac, and assistant defensive back coach Johnnie Lynn.
Average general admission tickets will remain around $101, which is close to the NFL average. All tickets, including luxury seating, will be approximately $190. Tickets have stayed the same since the 2015 season.
Ellis also wrote, "We are pleased to announce that for the second consecutive year we will not raise our ticket prices for the upcoming season. Our staff will also work tirelessly to improve the fan experience ..."
It's bittersweet for Broncos fans. Even though the team is unable to perform at a high standard, at least they won't have to pay more to watch them crash and burn. Let's just hope the boys can bring some wins to Mile High in the 2018-2019 season!
