The State Fair of Texas Auto Show is one of the largest in the U.S.

You may not know it, but the State Fair of Texas Auto Show is one of the largest in the country.  You have the opportunity to see all the latest car and truck offerings, from a wide variety of manufacturers, up close and personal.  More good news?  A lot of the displays are inside in air-conditioned comfort.  So a great chance to cool off after viewing other events or sampling some of the fabulous food at the fair on a hot day or evening.

The auto show is in three areas.  In the Centennial Building near the front gate, you'll find import automobiles (on your map, this is building 6A).  Across the way, at the Automobile Building (6B) you will find a variety of SUVs along with domestic and import trucks.  Behind that building is what many of you really came for, the truck zone.  This is where you are going to find all of the latest trucks and some fun games as well.  Definitely worth a visit!

One of the most interesting trucks that we saw was the new Ford Tremor.  What the Raptor is to the F-150, the new Ford Tremor Package is to the F-250.  It's a beast on 35" wheels allowing you to drive in 33" deep of water, a 10-speed transmission and 37,000 pounds (yes, you read that right) of towing capacity.

I also had a chance to see the new Chevy Trail Boss, Midnight edition pickup.  This is going to be released in about two weeks and also is a contender for the best new truck.  It has the 6.2L with 420 HP 10-speed transmission, 2" factory lift, and their Z71 off-road package.
