Last Friday, members of the Colorado National Guard and their families marched to fight hunger.
On Friday, March 17, dozens of Colorado National Guard soldiers and airmen, plus their friends and families came together to march for hunger. The group toted backpacks filled with donated goods, including nonperishable food and personal products. The march started at Joint Force Headquarters in Centennial and concluded five miles away at Southeast Community Outreach in Parker.The Colorado National Guard cares about our communities," Colorado Army National Guard Full-Time Unit Support Chaplain U.S. Army Maj. David Nagel told reporters. "This team building and spiritual fitness event is a great way to show our support for those who are hurting in our neighborhood."This march was a great way for the community to come together and lend a hand to one another. Marching those five miles with bags full of food and necessary supplies not only filled participant's hearts with a sense of community and camaraderie, it also filled the bellies and hearts of many Colorado families in need.
