Oktoberfest is one of the greatest festivals in the world. Not all of us can afford to travel to Germany, so why not celebrate at Breckenridge Brewery instead?
Drinking beer, eating German food, playing lawn games, and donating to charity. Does it get any better than that? You can do all of this and more at Breckenridge Brewery on Saturday, September 29, 2018, for the Colorado Oktoberfest 2018.
More than 24 craft brews will be in attendance with unlimited tasting (yum!) and there will be team competitions in German-themed games as well as individual games (score!). The team competition games are schnitzengiggle (you will have to find out what this is when you go), beer pong, long pour, yodeling, and DAS Boot. Individual games will feature one of my personal favorites, Keg Bowling -- it would not be a true Oktoberfest without the classic Stein Hoisting event.
Plus, all proceeds from the team events will be donated to charity, so it's a double-win! And if you have the proper German attire at home -- Dirndl Dresses and Lederhosen -- you can even win prizes for best dressed. So, really, it's a triple-win!

Tickets for the event range from $50 to $150. Your ticket gets you admission to the event plus unlimited samples in 12 oz pours, so take advantage. Tables in the farmhouse or on the patio can be reserved for $100. If you're fired up about the BeerFest competition, you can get a team of five signed up for just $150 (and it all gets donated).
For the super Oktoberfest fans, there's a VIP pass that includes free food ($30 value), a commemorative Beer Stein ($20 value), a German drinking hat ($20 value), and a larger pour (25 percent more than General Admission). But wait, it gets better -- VIP patrons get to skip the line with access to a Private Tasting room, Private bathrooms, and even early entry to Beer Sampling.
Based on my past experience with German food, I'll have no problem putting down enough to make the $120 price worth it. Shockingly, I don't own a commermorative Beer Stein or a German drinking hat. But it sounds like I'm a viable candidate for the VIP pass!
So Where's the Money Going?
The great people at Breckenridge Brewery have partnered with Global Orphan Prevention, an organization that strives "to keep mothers and children together". Sadly, children in developing countries are sold to orphan homes by traffickers as well as lured into the sex trade. With the donations from this event, Global Orphan Prevention will continue to fight the good fight and keep children and mothers together.
Global Orphan Prevention was founded in 2011 and immediately began helping widowed or abandoned mothers. With a lot of hardwork, Global Orphan Prevention expanded their reach and began building classroom facilities to help poor mothers teach their children. The company also delivered life-saving birthing kits to Nepal when the earthquakes struck in 2015.
The Colorado Oktoberfest will feature great tasting craft beer, party goers clad in German attire, lawn games, and amazing food. And best of all, it's for a great cause! This event is sure to be one of the best in 2018, and we hope to see you there!
