Sales of the brew will benefit people impacted by COVID-19 in the state.

Colorado breweries are known for making their own blend of unique brews in an attempt to stand out from the crowd. All that is being put aside for the moment, as more than 125 brewers will be making the same beer to raise money for people in Colorado who have been affected by COVID-19.

The initiative is being sponsored by the Colorado Brewers Guild and Left Hand Brewing Foundation, which has purchased all the supplies from Colorado suppliers. On Tap Credit Union and Ball are also supporting the effort.

Participating breweries include Left Hand Brewing Company, Weldwerks Brewing, Upslope Brewing Company, Pikes Peak Brewing Company, Bent Barley Brewing Company, Over Yonder Brewing, and Broken Compass Brewing Company, just to name a few. For the full list of participating breweries, and when they'll have the Colorado Strong brew ready, visit coloradostrongbeer.org.

Breweries are provided with free malt and hops delivered to them, as well as the recipe for the beer. Twenty percent of all sales at each brewery will be given directly back to the Colorado Strong Fund to aid healthcare, hospitality, service industry, and gig economy workers across the state. Longmont company Sticker Giant is supplying Colorado Strong beer labels to participating breweries.

"Colorado Strong is a crisp, refreshing Pale Ale perfect for a Colorado summer. Cascade hops grown right here on the Front Range and award-winning malts from Root Shoot Malting drive a balanced, full-bodied beer with big notes of citrus and hints of grapefruit. Colorado Strong Pale Ale is a benefit beer made entirely with Colorado ingredients by Colorado breweries to benefit the Colorado Strong Fund," says Untapped.

Homebrewers can get in on this, as well. For a charitable donation of $25 to the Colorado Strong Fund, you can receive the recipe and links to purchase the same Colorado ingredients!

This sounds like one truly Colorado way to get things done—and get some delicious beer out of the effort! We know everyone is buying beer anyway, so why not support the local small business community? You can count us in!
