Read up on the resort's coronavirus precautions before hitting the slopes this season.
Copper Mountain released new precautions and systems in place for the upcoming season, including delaying their opening date to Monday, November 30, and adding a parking reservation system. The guidelines are an effort to keep guests and employees safe while still enjoying the fresh powder and winter activities.
"While we believe skiing and snowboarding is inherently safe, there are two principles driving our every action here at Copper Mountain," resort president Dustin Lyman said in an online letter. "First is our commitment to protect the wellbeing of all who live, work, stay, and play at Copper remains steadfast. Second, we are doing everything we can to ensure the longevity of the season."
Lyman said the opening date delay to November 30 would allow the resort to offer more acreage, open lifts, and a higher quality winter experience. It will also encourage guests to practice physical distancing.
The parking reservation system, also new for the 2020/2021 season, will help the company manage crowds and implement physical distance guidelines. The system will limit the number of people on the mountain and in the resort. Every guest of Copper Mountain, whether they're pass holders or visiting for a day to dine or tube, are required to reserve a parking space.
Copper Mountain will be implementing the following additional precautions:
- Face coverings required at all times while visiting the resort
- Spacing measures on all lifts
- Touchless transactions for tickets, passes, retail, and dining
- Private lessons for ski and ride school
- Reconfigured dining rooms and an expanded grab-and-go menu
