Getting the COVID-19 vaccine just got easier!

Giant Food Pharmacies are now offering vaccinations against COVID-19 at all of their D.C. locations! Their licensed, in-store pharmacists began administering them early last December, initially only in the nation's capital before slowly expanding to other areas in Virginia, Delaware, and Maryland. Now, all 152 stores are said to be giving out the vaccine to eligible residents!

As someone who lives right next to a Giant, this news makes me really happy!

"We're extremely proud of all our Giant pharmacy teams across our stores for their commitment to serving the public and doing their part to help our communities get vaccinated," Paul Zvaleny said.

Zvaleny is the Director of Operations at Giant Food, which makes headquarters in Maryland. Zvaleny's words ring true, as Giant seems to be receiving more supplies to vaccinate more eligible customers. Giant is even identifying other off-site clinics to ensure they receive distribution items in their own communities.

At the moment, Giant Food Pharmacies are cooperating with various federal and local authorities to expand their outlook in their communities and receive more doses, with the hopes of progressing in the overall vaccination against the coronavirus. However, they admit it may take time since the demand for vaccinations is greater than their supply.

Depending on your location in the D.C. area, you can receive the Moderna, Pfizer, or Johnson & Johnson vaccination at Giant pharmacies. To make an appointment, you must be eligible and check scheduling times. Giant pharmacies will invite you for a second appointment if you are receiving either the Moderna or Pfizer vaccination.

You can find out more about scheduling an appointment at giantfood.com/pages/covid-info.

Will you be on the list to get vaccinated against COVID-19? Let us know in the comments.

Hi! I've lived in the NOVA region most of my life, repping our sports' teams, finding unique and cozy coffee shops to indulge in, and exploring nature hikes I've never visited. I used to live under the mountains in Roanoke, VA as well as a handful of beaches in NC, but good ol' Northern VA had always called me back! I write novels for fun (currently working on a fantasy series that won't have a terrible ending like Game of Thrones, right?), and enjoy reading and diving into new experiences that help me grow.
