Colorado State University has found a new men's basketball head coach in former assistant coach Niko Medved.

He's baaack! On Friday, March 23, the CSU's Director of Athletics Joe Parker introduced Niko Medved as the head coach for the Rams' men's basketball program. Medved was CSU's assistant coach from 2007-13 before he moved onto coach at Furman (2013-16) and Drake University (2016-17), where he led the team to its first postseason run in six years.
"We are extremely excited to have Niko assume the leadership of our basketball program," Joe Parker said in a statement. "Throughout our discussions, he showed a great understanding of what basketball means to Colorado State University and the community while demonstrating how much he has developed in his five years as a head coach. He has not only had success on the court at Furman and Drake ... but also grew his student-athletes into young men who were also solid in the classroom and engaged in the community."
Medved said that the decision to return to Fort Collins was a "no brainer." "Some of the best personal and professional memories I have in life came here in Fort Collins and Colorado State," he said in a press conference held at Moby Arena.
