In 2019, the Denver Art Museum is getting exclusive access to the most comprehensive U.S. collection of Monet paintings in more than 20 years.
The Denver Art Museum is about to be home to the exclusive exhibition event of 2019! And by exclusive, we really mean really exclusive -- Denver will be the only city in the entire country to show the collection.
French Impressionist Claude Monet's work of more than 100 paintings will be on display across three galleries starting in the fall of next year. Each painting will have an emphasis on "the artist's relationship with nature and his response to the varied and distinct places in which he worked," according to the museum.
The exhibition will be called Claude Monet: The Truth of Nature and will run October 20, 2019, to February 2, 2020. Group tickets and event reservations will go on sale December 17 of this year. However, if you're interested in single tickets, you'll have to wait a bit longer as a sale date has not been announced yet.
"Monet traveled more extensively than any other Impressionist artist in search of new motifs. His journeys to varied places, including the rugged Normandy coast, the sunny Mediterranean, London, the Netherlands, and Norway, inspired artworks that will be featured in the presentation."
Some of those artworks will include Water Lilies and Japanese Bridge (1899) and Path in the Wheat Fields at Pourville (Chemin dans les blés à Pourville) (1882), among others -- including six Monet paintings from the Denver Art Museum's collection.

Angelica Daneo, curator of European painting and sculpture at the museum, said in a statement: "Monet's constant quest for new motifs shows the artist's appreciation for nature's ever-changing and mutable character. Not only from place to place, but from moment to moment, a concept that increasingly became the focus of his art."
Once the exhibition has concluded in Denver, it will travel to the Museum Barberini in Potsdam, Germany, in the spring of 2020.
