Starting today, shuttle lots will remain closed to incoming traffic at DIA. 

Shuttle lots at Denver International Airport (DEN) closed on May 11 to incoming traffic. The Pikes Peak and Mt. Elbert shuttle lots were closed today at 12:01 a.m., and will not reopen for the foreseeable future.

The Pikes Peak lot is the primary shuttle lot at DEN, with the airport housing over 17,500 vehicles in their shuttle lots under normal operations. Shuttle service will continue to run for passengers who are currently parked at the shuttle lots so they can retrieve their vehicles. Valet parking services at the airport have been suspended as well, and the East Economy passenger lot has also closed. 

The airport has seen a major decrease in passenger traffic over the last two months due to the coronavirus pandemic and has been making changes to its operations as needed. Compared to last year, traffic at DIA security checkpoints is down almost 93 percent, according to airport officials. 

Last week, DEN made face coverings and masks mandatory for all who enter the airport until further notice. Social distancing measures are in place, hand sanitizing stations have been placed throughout the airport along with the requirement of facial coverings. Airlines have reduced their flight schedules and there are currently no international flights to or from DIA for the month of May.
