Full-time and part-time positions available.

As Denver Public Schools (DPS) prepares to open its doors to some students in the near future, it is putting the call out for custodians.

According to the DPS District, it hopes to fill more than 70 full-time and part-time positions to help keep the schools on top of pandemic cleaning requirements and more. Some students will begin in-person learning in late September, and more students will be phased in throughout October. Mixed remote and in-person learning is part of the plan when students return.

With over 200 schools and 90,000 students in the district, the custodial staff is a crucial part of school operations now more than ever.

"The Custodial Operations Division is an essential component in supporting the educational mission of DPS. Our team provides the essential elements necessary to maintain a safe, clean, and functional environment for every student, staff, and community member," said DPS.

Custodial staff will be tasked to ensure classrooms and common areas are set up according to social distancing, as well as disinfect and clean to COVID-19 standards. Basically, they will have to be prepared to sanitize anything and everything that kids touch (which is basically everything.

In addition, the district says that the potential for career advancement within the division is ample.

"Custodial Operation’s strives to develop our employees to become next generation managers and leaders. Join our team and become a member of a respected support division which prides itself in quality and commitment," the job listing says.

DPS is offering positions at around $14.77 an hour (and up) for those they hire. Part-time and full-time positions are available and different shifts are also available. Anyone interested in applying for an open position can visit bit.ly/3kjUHsF (full-time) and bit.ly/2FpNmcB (part-time).
