A few small systems could impact daily weather this week.
Great temps categorized this past weekend, and it was sprinkled with some storms that produced large hail and damaging winds, but they were largely away from any city areas, which is good. Although it would’ve been nice to get a little more rain—we need it.
Denver picked up 0.04 inches of rain this weekend, while some areas near the Nebraska border saw 1-2 inches!
We have a few small systems that could impact daily weather this week, and what you’ll notice are some cloudy and windy conditions. A couple of "cool" fronts will move through the state, but they'll largely be lacking moisture so we’re not expecting big rain chances this week. You may, however, notice that Thursday will be windy, with 20-30-plus mph gusts. And humidity values will drop low enough for there to be potential fire danger across the Plains.
Friday’s front will move through and drop our temperatures for afternoon highs into the upper-50s to low-60s, so it’ll be noticeably cooler, especially with the possibility of a few showers and thunderstorms.
The remainder of the weekend looks to be rather nice with highs in the mid- to upper-60s, just in time for Mother's Day on Sunday.
The U.S. Drought Monitor is showing severe drought conditions across southern and eastern Colorado. One month ago, there was only 6.5 percent of Colorado in a severe drought. Now there's more than 30 percent. We’ll need to start getting some steady moisture across the state to help this out.

The snowpack numbers line up pretty well with the drought.

Northern half of the state is still doing well but the southern half is starting to really struggle. #COwx pic.twitter.com/BzyVPOYdyL
The 6-10-day outlook for precipitation, for May 10-14, brings some moisture into southern Colorado. Other than that, the next few weeks look rather typical for us here in Colorado.
