Who doesn’t love delicious crab cake in the summer?

The 13th Annual Crab Cake Competition will be your opportunity to get your fill of some of the region’s most deliciously prepared crab -- and judge your favorites, too! This competition works to raise funds for culinary scholarships, internships, and educational programs, so besides all the amazing food, you know you’ll be supporting a worthy cause with your ticket. The event will cost you $85 per person, and that includes all-you-can-eat tastings of crab cake from all of the chefs participating. You can purchase them here. Eight of the area’s top chefs will compete in a crab cake cook-off, and you will get to decide who makes the best one. There will also a simultaneous showdown between students from the local culinary schools, and you’ll get to taste those, too. In addition to all the crab cake, there will also be an oyster bar, clam chowder station, and beer and wine, which are included in the ticket price. The event is being held on Sunday, June 24, from noon to 3 p.m. It will be sponsored by The D.C. Food and Beverage Collective in collaboration with The Tavern at Ivy City Smokehouse. Everything will take place at Ivy City Smokehouse, which is located at 1356 Okie Street NE, Washington, D.C., 20002. You can learn more about who will be competing here.
