On November 3, the Baltimore Museum of Art is holding an exhibit which will explore the collision of art, nature and science.
From 8 p.m. until 11 p.m. on November 3, the Baltimore Museum of Art will be hosting a 21 and over art celebration/exhibit that can't be missed. "Art After Hours: Future/Nature" is a viewing party of sorts as ticket holders are given access to art galleries, food and drink, and provided with entertainment which includes the opportunity to create an artwork of their own. Patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy the exhibition, which is called "Tomas Saraceno: Entangled Orbits," and is the grand opening of Baltimore artist Phaan Howng’s latest installation, and features sculptures and textiles by Annet Couwenberg and collages by Al Loving. The evening’s festivities start in the Museum’s East Lobby where patrons will be able to enjoy sound art, followed by a performance by Howng and a wine sipping session in which patrons can contribute to a communal sculpture piece. It gives guests the chance to enjoy discussions and workshops that delve into when, where and how art and science meet, while the artwork on display will be reflective of the relationship between the creative and scientific. Other activities include the chance to make laser-cut sculpture with the help of Open Works Baltimore. There will also be a plant demo presented by Mid Atlantic Carnivorous Plant society, wearable rope making sessions with artists Clare Nichols, and a dance party by DJ Dubble8.
