Dining restrictions are beginning to lift across Maryland, and if you're craving a refreshing drink outdoors, you're in luck: Downtown Bethesda is transforming its streets into the ultimate socially-distant dining spot, and just in time for summer!
The Bethesda Urban Partnership is launching "The Streetery" for patrons to use starting Wednesday, June 10. Various streets will be closed down for guests to enjoy dining outside, and proper precautions will be taken to ensure diners are kept safe. According to their website, tables will be placed six feet apart and cleaned thoroughly after each group. Only four people maximum can be seated at a table simultaneously.
Many area restaurants open for takeout service, so people can order their grub to enjoy in the extended dining area. With such a wide variety of cuisine to choose from—American, Mexican, Afghan—there's something for everybody. Take a look at their tasty offerings here.

Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day (with the exception of Cordell Avenue, which will operate 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday) at the following locations:
- Woodmont Avenue between Elm Street and Bethesda Avenue
- Veterans Park at the corner of Norfolk and Woodmont avenues
- Cordell Avenue between the parking garage near Old Georgetown Road and Triangle Towers
- Norfolk Avenue between St. Elmo and Cordell avenues
- Norfolk Avenue between Cordell and Del Ray avenues
As part of Maryland's re-opening plan, restaurants were permitted to re-open for outdoor dining effective at 5 p.m. last Friday, in an announcement from Governor Larry Hogan. According to the report, restaurants must comply with state regulations, including sanitizing menus and limiting space between tables.
