If you’ve had trouble finding Dr. Pepper products at the store, you’re not alone.

Another product is struggling with inventory due to the pandemic. Dr. Pepper fans have been encountering empty shelves instead of soda when they visit grocery stores. The distributor of the classic soda brand, Keurig Dr. Pepper, posted a statement to social media addressing the inventory issues. The shortages are occurring across the country and impact Dr. Pepper, Diet Dr. Pepper, Dr. Pepper Cream Soda and Dr. Pepper Cherry.

After Dr. Pepper fans began sounding the alarm on social media, the company posted a message to consumers. The company said it is working to get more Dr. Pepper in stores while working to keep its employees safe.

“Having trouble finding your favorite Dr. Pepper product? We’re doing everything we can to get it back into your hands.”

The company didn’t give a specific reason for the shortage, but many of the supply issues impacting grocery store staples could also be impacting Dr. Pepper. Prior to the pandemic, soda demand had ebbed and flowed, creating inconsistencies in stock. Once the coronavirus began to take hold, people began stocking up on shelf stable items like canned food, soda, and water. The consistent hoarding has caused shortages in everything from toilet paper to macaroni and cheese. Supply chain issues in aluminum are also impacting soda and beer distributors, forcing them to use more glass and plastic.

So what can you do if you’re having a major craving? Try your local convenience stores to see if they have individual bottles in stock. You can also search for convenience stores and restaurants that have Dr. Pepper products on fountain. Dr. Pepper is also advising fans to contact their local store to find out when they expect new deliveries of their favorite soda.

Have you personally been impacted by the Dr. Pepper shortage? Had trouble finding it on the shelves? Tell us in the comments!
