"The Rock" stopped by the hospital with a special gift: custom Xbox Series X Consoles and gamer carts. 

There's a little more joy in the world today thanks to Dwyane “The Rock” Johnson, who donated brand-new, custom Xbox Series X consoles to 20 hospitals across the country, including Children's Hospital Colorado. 

Johnson, who helped launch the very first Xbox console 20 years ago, let everyone in on the surprise on Instagram.

20 years ago my buddy Bill Gates and I debuted the very first ever @Xbox console to the world. Now two decades later, I’m partnering up with @Microsoft once again to launch their brand new XBOX Series X to the world. BUT the best part about this partnership is I have the absolute privilege to deliver ONE OF A KIND “ROCK XBOX Series X” consoles to 20 different children’s hospitals that will eventually reach over 50,000 KIDS!!!! 🎉🥳🚨 These kids are battling through their illnesses with incredible bravery and I’m thrilled @microsoft, @gamersoutreach and myself can provide some joy and smiles. The consoles and wireless controllers feature Johnson’s golf Brahma Bull and an engraved message: “Keep smiling and have fun. Love, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson”.

Hospitals will also be receiving Gamers Outreach (GO)Karts. These are portable gaming kiosks that can move from hospital room to hospital room. According to a press release, the “GO Karts were built specifically for hospitals to empower and bring joy to families through play, giving kids access to interactive entertainment and the chance to socialize via video games.”

Johnson announced his partnership with Gamers Outreach this past Monday, November 9. Gamers Outreach is a charity organization that works to bring technology and equipment to children in long-term hospital treatment. Started by a group of high school students, the charity helps over a million children in hospitals across the country every year. The organization has a goal ”to create sustainable experiences that produce joy and minimize trauma for patients.”

This was a happy surprise for the patients at Colorado Children’s Hospital and will certainly add some brightness and fun for many days to come
