As Thanksgiving slowly creeps closer, the cook in the family is thinking ahead to the all-important annual turkey. Here's what NOT to do this year.

Don't do whatever made this turkey explode, okay? Okay.

No, no, no ...

If you smell something burning, check the giant bird in the oven, for Pete's sake!

When grilling a turkey, don't wander off. It can go from main course to molotov cocktail in no time.

Make sure you check inside the turkey before putting it in the oven.

I'm guessing that they were deep-frying their bird, but yeah, don't cook a turkey in the garage. Because, cars.

Now that we've scared you silly, just remember to thaw your turkey properly, pick one good cooking method and stick with it, and finally, don't be scared to ask for help from the experts. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
