If you’re looking for a gym to try out in the Washington D.C. area, give Vida Fitness a shot. Here are five reasons why it’s worth considering.

We're a month into 2018, and hopefully everyone is still on track with their New Year’s fitness resolutions. Since fitness isn’t always a straight and narrow game, we often have to experiment with what will work best for us individually. Some prefer boutique studios, while others enjoy the capacity and convenience of a gym.

All-purpose gym

Unlike boutique studios that only focus on one kind of workout or offer only a specific type of class, an all-purpose gym allows you the freedom to get fit in many different ways. Whether it's yoga, cycling, or strength training, you’ll be able to work out any way you want to at Vida.

Flexibility

Vida has five locations in distinct Washington, D.C., neighborhoods, each with their own distinct features (pools, saunas, etc.). When you sign up for their membership you’ll have the option of obtaining an all-access pass, which allows you to go to any one of the locations. Going to a gym like Vida is also flexible in the sense that you can go whenever you please. Work out early in the morning or late at night, and everything in between.

Pool/roof deck/sauna access

Vida has a lot of extra amenities that make it appealing for membership. Two Vida gyms have very popular roof deck pools for people to enjoy during the warmer months. If you prefer a good steam instead, almost all the Vidas are equipped with saunas, as well as hot tubs. Places like the Metropole location also allow you to reserve private space in the endless lap pool. All Vidas also include Aura Spa and Bang Salon, and sell merchandise and snacks.

Value added program

When you first sign up for a membership, Vida provides a value added program. This is an extra one-time $150 that you will pay on top of your membership fee, which will give you the benefit of three personal training sessions (which is actually a great deal, as they usually go for $80 a session), an appointment with a nutritionist, or an exclusive Pilates reformer or boot camp class.

Great way to meet new people

Joining a gym like Vida is also a fantastic way to meet new people. Whether you’re new in town or just want to meet people with more similarly aligned interests, Vida has all the resources for you to do so. The gym tends to attract a younger, open-minded crowd so you’re sure to find someone you clock with. Vida also hosts events where you can mingle with other members and guests in a setting that’s a little less sweaty.
