Four of Virginia’s finest athletes will be competing during this year’s Winter Olympic Games!

Out of the 242 athletes that will be representing the United States at the Winter Olympics in South Korea over the next two weeks, four hail from Virginia: women’s speed skater Maame Biney, men’s bobsledder Hakeem Abdul-Saboor, USA hockey team member Garret Roe, and women’s freestyle skiing aerialist Ashley Caldwell!

Ashley Caldwell

[caption id="attachment_6124" align="aligncenter" width="400"]olympic courtesy of american group management llc[/caption] Freestyle skier Ashley Caldwell, 24, competes in “aerials,” during which the contestants ski down a steep slope onto a large ramp, then fly high into the air while performing flips, twists, and twirls -- all while trying to land gracefully on two feet. Caldwell’s odds of winning a medal are quite good, as she is the first American to complete a quadruple-twist backflip.  

Maame Biney

Expect to see exceptional speed and athleticism as Biney and others compete in speed skating events!

Garrett Roe

Their games will air live on February 14, at 7:10 a.m. on NBCSN, February 15, at 10:10 p.m. on CNBC, and February 17, at 7:10 a.m. on NBCSN.

Hakeem Abdul-Saboor

[caption id="attachment_6126" align="aligncenter" width="193"]olympic Courtesy of IBSF Athletes[/caption] Powhatan bobsledder Hakeem Abdul-Saboor (the former football player-turned-bodybuilder-turned-Olympic bobsledder) will share the limelight with other exceptionally talented athletes during NBC’s primetime coverage on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m., and Friday, Feb. 24 and Saturday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m.
