In honor of Veteran's Day, November 11, the National Park Service (NPS) is inviting visitors to remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country by visiting any National Park for free. There are over 400 national parks in the United States to choose from, so revisit an old favorite or check out something new!

"Many national parks have direct connections to the American military — there are dozens of battlefields, military parks, and historic sites that commemorate and honor the service of American veterans," says the NPS.

The organization adds that every one of our national wonders, majestic landscapes, and patriotic sites are reminders of the land and freedoms that our veterans have sacrificed to protect.

"On Veterans Day, or any day, honor those who have served and sacrificed for our country with a visit to a national park," invites the NPS.

You can find the locations of the National Parks nearest you on the NPS website. Please note that the entrance fee waiver for free days does not cover extra amenities or user fees for camping, boat launches, transportation, or special tours.
