About 1,700 bottles were accidentally filled with Heath Shell Topping, which contains almonds.

According to a press release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Hershey Company announced a "voluntary recall" of the Hershey's Chocolate Shell Topping, a single lot, after it was discovered that it was filled with the Heath Shell Topping product and contains almonds.

"Hershey is initiating the voluntary recall to protect public health," says the FDA.

The bottles were shipped nationwide between April 15 and May 3. They bear the product code 25JSAS1. Any products bought before April 15 are not part of this recall.

No illness or injuries have been reported, at the time of this writing.

Consumers who purchased Hershey’s Chocolate Shell Topping products (with lot code 25JSAS1) after April 15  should not consume the product and should contact Hershey Consumer Relations for a full refund. Call 1-866-528-6848 or visit www.askhershey.comExternal Link Disclaimer.
