Here's a summary of how students in Northern Virginia are heading back to class.

Educators all over the country are working on their plans for the upcoming school year. Here's some information about how some of the largest school districts in our area are getting back to work.

Alexandria City Public Schools are starting up on September 8 with the Virtual Plus+ learning platform for distance education. 

Arlington County Public Schools are employing 100-percent virtual learning as the school year starts on September 8.

Fairfax County Public Schools are starting up on September 8 with virtual learning at all grade levels.

Falls Church City Public Schools will be 100-percent virtual as they start the new academic year.

Fauquier County Public Schools get back to work on August 24 with virtual learning for all students.

Loudoun County Public Schools will work toward a hybrid model while starting with 100-percent virtual learning in the first semester.

Manassas City Public Schools are starting the school year with 100-percent virtual learning. 

Manassas Park City Schools start up on September 8 with distance learning across the board.

Prince William County students will use Zoom and Canvas as learning platforms for their virtual return to class this year.

Winchester Public Schools are offering two options: a hybrid model with two in-person days a week, and a fully virtual program.

Many of the school districts will be doing regular reviews of their virtual operations in hopes of returning to in-person learning. Expect to see updates as the academic year progresses.
