The Winter Dew Tour is back in Colorado with a new location for 2019 and 2020 seasons.

The Winter Dew Tour, a ski and snowboard competition, has been held in Breckenridge, Colorado, for the last 11 years. This year marks the first move for the Dew Tour—the contract with Breckenridge Ski Resort ended last year. The competition has now partnered with Copper Mountain Resort to host the event for the next two winter seasons.

This year’s event is set for February 6–8, 2020. The event is one of the biggest of its kind, plus it's free to the public.

For four days, male and female competitors from all over the world will shred the slopes in Summit County. Copper Mountain is going through a $100 million multi-year renovation project and will be opening a new terrain park and a new Tucker Mountain lift. The ski resort released this statement regarding the new deal with the Dew Tour:

“Copper is excited to be the new home to the Winter Dew Tour. Between our investments in enhancing the overall ski and ride experience to our designation as an official venue for U.S. Ski & Snowboard teams early season training, Copper’s areas of expertise are providing world-class facilities for athlete progression and a lively atmosphere for spectators,” said Dustin Lyman, Copper Mountain president, and general manager. “The Dew Tour is a perfect fit for Copper as we live the action sports lifestyle every day through our Woodward venues and programs.”

Dew Tour shared the news with fans on social media, as well:

Competitors will vie for the top score in individual modified halfpipe competitions, slopestyle and para snowboard, industry award shows, an invitational competition, the Dew Tour Team Challenge, and fan-based activities. The event also includes live music on the Dew Tour mainstage and a sponsor village and opportunities for fans to take photos with their favorite competitors.

Though the list of athletes invited has yet to be released, we can expect to see some big names; past competitors include Chloe Kim, Shaun White, Amy Purdy, and many more. Full event details will be released on the tour website, as well as on Copper Mountain’s event page.
