Grab those bikes, and go!

"Bike to Work Day" is usually observed in June in Denver, but this year, the in-person event was canceled. Fear not, because "Bike to Wherever Week" is here in its place. The concept is the same; ditch that car, grab your bike, and put the pedal to the medal all week, wherever you are.

"After careful consideration, we have decided to cancel all in-person Bike to Work Day festivities in 2020. But that doesn’t mean the fun is canceled! We’re challenging you to a Bike to Wherever… week!" writes the official event's website.

Sponsored by Way to Go, a division of the Denver Regional Council of Governments, the idea is to get more people out on bikes and keep the cars at home. Every day, they are adding new biking tips, recipes, and challenges!

Those who want to participate can fill out the submission form for Pledge to Ride (no money involved)—you'll also receive news and updates throughout the week.

With fewer people on the roads already, bike riders have more flexibility and room to move around. Biking through Colorado in the fall is a wonderful way to catch those amazing fall colors and get yourself a great workout.

Wherever you are heading this week, think about giving a bike a try for your mode of transportation—you may just end up starting a new life-long hobby and healthy habit.
