Those who've read the play know that the course of Macbeth's entire life changes (and not necessarily for the better) after an interaction with three riddle-speaking witches. He begins as a humble nobleman until the idea is put in his head that he'll become a king, which shouldn't be possible because there is already a king in place. But Macbeth's cunning and ruthless wife formulates a plot that puts him on the throne -- and ultimately leads to his tumultuous downfall.

In Davenant's version, the setting and time period is updated to London after the Great Fire. The characters are no longer Scottish noblemen; instead, they're criminals that have been locked up for their crimes. And the Folger Theatre plans to further update the play for modern audiences by adding music, some dancing, and even a new scene! Hurry and get your seats to see what they came up with!
