A Maryland cat recently saved her owner from getting robbed when she woke him up in the middle of a burglary, showing cats are truly man's best friend.

If you own a cat, then you likely know cats can be real jerks. Like, "maintain eye contact with you while they break your favorite vase" level jerk. Well, a Maryland cat is showing us why 38 percent of Americans own a cat. The cat saved her owner from getting robbed when she woke him up and alerted him to the burglary. On April 8 at around 1 a.m., a man attempted to break into a Salisbury resident's car. Well, unlucky for him, the house cat was vigilantly looking out the window and saw the whole thing. The cat became agitated, likely trying to fight the intruder through the window and woke up her owner. The owner looked out the window and saw a man inside his vehicle, grabbing his belongings. The man called the Wicomico County Sheriff's office and deputies arrived at the scene. At that point, the burglar had started breaking into a neighbor's car. The burglar ran away from police but was eventually taken into custody once deputies caught him. The man was charged with four counts of theft and four counts of tampering with a motor vehicle. The deputies found that the thief had stolen items from four cars in the area. Let's hope the kitty received extra tuna and catnip. She definitely deserves it! I certainly know that if my house was robbed, my cats wouldn't bat an eye and simply walk to the other room to eat out of their food bowls. What do you think? Are you about to adopt a guard cat? Would your cat alert you to a burglary or just continue with their night? Let us know in the comments below.
