Coach DJ Durkin has been let go from the University of Maryland.

Following the heatstroke-related death of a football player in June, University of Maryland coach DJ Durkin is finally on the outs. The university announced on Wednesday that Durkin will not be reinstated after all.

Durkin's position has been in question for some time, amid controversy and accusations regarding his training regimen for the team. He was put on paid leave on August 11. Just yesterday, the University System of Maryland Board of Regents recommended he be reinstated. However, students, lawmakers, and the public were critical of that decision. The decision has now been reversed.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.

What do you think? Was this the right decision? What do you think the future holds for the Maryland football team? Weigh in below!
