2017 is set to be a great year if you’re judging by movie releases! Here are the most anticipated movies of 2017.

Logan (Mar. 3) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Div0iP65aZo   After 17 years, Hugh Jackman is saying goodbye as Wolverine in Logan, an action-packed film that follows the timeline set by Days of Future Past. As Wolverine realizes his healing factor is failing, his last fight is to protect Professor X and a young mutant girl. If it’s anything like the rest of his legacy, Jackman won’t go out with a fizzle, but a bang.   Beauty and the Beast (Mar. 17) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvW_L8sTu5E   Emma Watson hits the big screen as Belle in this classic Disney tale. With Dreamgirl's musical director Bill Condon, the audience is in for a magical time with plenty of classic musical numbers that have an elevated twist. Belle follows in her father's footsteps as an inventor in this remake, a feminist twist that Watson helped bring to the set. Never before heard songs from the original movie will be used, with prestigious voices Celine Dion and Ariana Grande on the soundtrack. There's some major star power here, and we're willing to bet it's a hit!   Guardians of the Galaxy (May 5) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW1BIid8Osg   Star Lord Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) is back with his ragtag team to protect the galaxy, with Kurt Russell slated to make an appearance as Quill’s father. The movie will also intersect with more of the Marvel Universe - we smell a crossover in the future!   Alien: Covenant (May 19) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0VW6sg50Pk   It’s the movie series that’s been giving you nightmares since childhood - and it’s back in what Ridley Scott calls a “prequel quadrilogy” to Prometheus. Star Katherine Waterston joins the cast, where a colony of couples is mandated to repopulate a world full of aliens. Something tells me this may not turn out so well…   Wonder Woman (June 2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q8fG0TtVAY   Gal Gadot is set to star as the Amazonian princess Diana in this homage to Wonder Woman. Over the past few years, D.C. has been a much darker franchise when compared to the Marvel Universe, but they hope to bring some light back with this retro style tribute to the woman wonder.   The Mummy (June 9) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjHgzkQM2Sg   Look a little closer - this isn’t Brendan Fraser’s mummy. Tom Cruise plays the hero in this version, and the movie will be an installment of Universal’s new monster universe. Perhaps another prediction of things to come: Russell Crowe co-stars as Dr. Jekyll.   Spider-Man: Homecoming (July 7) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk-dF1lIbIg   A third reboot? The only reason we’re on board right now is because Tom Holland killed it as Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War. Show us what you’ve got, Spidey! Don’t make us regret listing you as one of the most anticipated movies of 2017.   War for the Planet of the Apes (July 14) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEP1Mk6Un98   Director Matt Reeves is set to end this reboot series with a strong landing in War for the Planet of the Apes. Woody Harrelson plays the Colonel, a man intent on wiping out the apes - but they won’t go down without a fight.   Dunkirk (July 21) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-eMt3SrfFU   There’s little doubt in our mind that Dunkirk, directed by Christopher Nolan (Interstellar), is going to be a visually stunning and emotionally compelling war story unlike any other. With strong actors Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy of Peaky Blinders headlining the cast, the Battle of Dunkirk is sure to be retold with bad-assery and artful finesse.      It (Sep. 8) most anticipated movies of 2017   Apologies up front to 80’s babies, we had to. For obvious reasons, Stephen King’s It is one of the most anticipated movies of 2017, and Pennywise is ready for a worthy makeover. Bill Skarsgard plays the evil clown, and frankly, he looks to be doing a pretty convincing job.   Blade Runner 2049 (Oct.6) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haXvp8M9Cog   Indiana Jones and Han Solo, move over - Harrison Ford isn’t done bringing sequels back to the big screen just yet. Blade Runner 2049 picks up 30 years after the original, with Hollywood playboy Ryan Gosling as the hero-cop.   Thor: Ragnarok (Nov. 3) most anticipated movies of 2017 Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor, and he’s set to take on the Hulk as well as a new threat to his home planet. Thor’s Asgardian brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) will be in the mix, and Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett is joining the cast as the ultimate enemy to contend with.   Justice League (Nov. 17) https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=7E5NbqzTQG0   Can Warner Brothers compete with Marvel’s superhero movie dominance? Justice League is one of the most anticipated movies of 2017 because critics are sure to get their answer. Ben Affleck will continue to portray Batman, and Henry Cavill will appear as Superman. Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg, and Wonder Woman are all accounted for, but Green Lantern is still under wraps.   Star Wars: The Last Jedi (Dec. 15) most anticipated movies 2017 Heroine Rey (Daisy Ridley) is back, along with Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), in this follow up episode to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The movie will pick up directly where it left off in The Force Awakens, with Benicio del Toro as the villain. This one is expected to be a little more ‘fun’ rather than dark, per director Rian Johnson.   Pitch Perfect 3 (Dec. 22) most anticipated movies of 2017 Can Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson keep the Pitch Perfect train going? The third and final installment (with the original cast, at least) is set to be released at the end of the year, and we’re expecting some hella crazy pop music mashups, diva sing-offs, and a lot of laughs. If we missed the movie you’re dying to see this year, drop us a line in the comments!
