The new flavor will be released later this month!

Companies love interrupting current holidays by putting out the next holiday's products months in advance – Just walk around any Michaels or Hobby Lobby right now, and you'll find Halloween decorations! Now Mountain Dew has jumped on the "early" bandwagon with its plan to release a spooktacular mystery flavor called "VooDew." The Halloween-inspired drink will hit stores in August and will only be available for a limited time.

Voodew will feature a spooky new label sporting the Grim Reaper, a foggy white color (like a ghost), and a mystery flavor that we won't be able to identify until we can get our claws on it! Somehow, certain Mountain Dew aficionados have already received a preview of the product, however, launching a slew of photos and reviews around Instagram, Twitter, and Reddit.

The drink was trademarked in 2018 by PepsiCo, Inc., and the first photo of the new flavor was teased on Instagram by user its_g_up back in March. At the time, it was believed that the drink would debut on August 14, but according to a report by Delish, the official release date is set for August 26. Whichever date it is, the drink will hit stores well before the fall season.

Fans are dying to know what VooDew will taste like. "Two Bald Guys Eat Stuff and Talk About it" reviewed the product and stated that it tasted like "orange vanilla" or "creamsicle" and had "maybe just a hint of lemon-lime but not much at all if any." Orange vanilla seems more like a summer flavor than fall; we're crossing our fingers that it tastes like candy corn!

It's hard to think about the fall season when we're still enjoying the warm air – Either way, we're excited about this new release and cannot wait to get our hands on a bottle!

Have you gotten a bottle of the drink already? What do you think the mystery flavor tastes like? Does it taste like orange vanilla? Tell us in the comments!
